Frederick “Art” Barthlow is a true expert in all facets of construction. He is a Licensed Building Code Administrator, Plans Examiner, Inspector, and a Certified Fire Inspector (CFI). His professional career includes 36 years as a laborer, carpenter, journeyman carpenter, superintendent, general superintendent, and a self-employed contractor. Art holds a Master Code Professional (MCP) certification from International Code Council (ICC), which requires a minimum of 19 ICC Certifications to qualify. He also holds a Fire Inspector I certification from the state Fire College in Ocala, Florida, which qualifies him to conduct fire inspection and plan reviews.
Art retired from the City of Jacksonville Building Department in 2016 and has been actively performing private plan review for jurisdictions and general contractors, first as an employee with Universal Engineering Sciences and now as a business owner.
To provide the information and industry expertise necessary to enable clients to plan proactively and complete their construction projects on time and in full compliance. Integrity, honesty, problem solving, and customer service are guiding principals, as is an appreciation for the professional staff involved in the permitting process.
To facilitate the prompt review and processing of a permit package to assist the Owner, Architect and Builder start their project(s) in a timely manner, removing the logistical challenges with the submittal and tracking of a Permit Package.
Meet Our Team
Mr. Herringdine has 52 years of experience in the construction industry, and 23 years of experience in the construction code compliance profession. He is a Florida Licensed Standard, Mechanical, and Residential Plans Examiner and Inspector. His professional career began in 1968 as a carpenter, quickly becoming a journeyman. He now works with Codes ABC where his main responsibilities as a building inspector/plans examiner include inspecting for code compliance and quality assurance per the approved plans, documents, and project specifications; generating field reports for any code or specifications violations; and meeting with contractors to resolve field issues.
Lauren Lambert joined Codes-ABC in 2019 with dedication and a strong desire to succeed. She brings with her years of experience working alongside owners and managers, strategizing on process implementation to ensure goal achievements. Her main responsibility, with Codes, is assisting clientele with the logistical challenges of their permitting submissions. With a strong background in customer service, Lauren typically exceeds expectations and is an intricate part of the Codes Team.
Prior to Codes, she worked for a local private provider firm where she assisted the inspections, plan review, and the sales departments, acting as a liaison between customer and jurisdictions.
Lauren is currently finishing up her Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
Michelle comes to us with more than 20 years of experience in the construction, education, and real estate industries. She is dedicated to fostering professional relationships and providing quality service with integrity. Her invaluable knowledge of the commercial and residential industry standards has assisted top executives and business owners manage some challenging projects in a streamlined, efficient manner. Michelle approaches every project from the client’s perspective and responds with a strategic plan to issues that can affect cost, time, and quality. In an ever-changing industry, Michelle is committed to continued growth.
She has her real estate sales and permit technician licenses and is currently working towards a commercial plan reviewer’s license.
Meghan is an experienced administrative specialist with 12 years of experience managing business operations. Since 2017, Meghan has been a permit technician specializing in contracts and proposal management, plans expediting and permitting.
